Many people think of rest simply as an opportunity to do nothing: lying on the couch, watching a series, or scrolling through their phone. But true rest is conscious recovery, when the body genuinely recharges rather than just "pauses."
Here are three types of rest you should alternate to truly feel refreshed:
✅ Physical rest
A warm bath with salt or essential oils
Massage or self-massage
Gentle stretching or yoga
These practices improve blood circulation, relax muscles, and help the body recover after activity or stress.
✅ Mental rest
Walks in the fresh air
Time without screens and gadgets
Meditation and breathing exercises
Mental rest helps reduce anxiety, improve concentration, and enhance sleep quality.
✅ Emotional rest
Enjoying favorite hobbies
Unhurried conversations with loved ones
Listening to music, reading books, creating art
Emotional rest helps you switch off, feel joy, and recharge emotionally.
The main rule of rest is to do what brings you pleasure and suits you personally. Not everything trendy is necessarily right for you. Even active rest can be restorative if it brings you joy.
Allow yourself to rest — it's not laziness, it's self-care.
