Even if you use sunscreen and try not to stay in the sun too long, your skin still experiences stress.
Ultraviolet rays dry out, overheat, and disrupt the natural balance of the skin — especially after prolonged sun exposure, swimming, or sweating.
That’s why it’s important not only to protect the skin beforehand, but also to help it recover afterward.
What helps skin after sun exposure:
✅ Intensive hydration
Look for products with:
– Hyaluronic acid — retains moisture
– Panthenol (provitamin B5) — heals and reduces irritation
– Aloe vera — soothes, cools, and reduces inflammation
✅ Cooling gels and sprays
Use fast-absorbing, alcohol-free formulas to avoid further drying out the skin.
✅ Drink more water
Hydration from the inside is just as important — it helps your skin regenerate faster.
✅ Gentle cleansing
Avoid scrubs, acids, and harsh treatments. Go for mild cleansers that won’t irritate already sensitive skin.
✅ Avoid sun exposure again if your skin is red or sensitive — let it recover first.
What not to do:
– Don’t apply oils, heavy creams, or film-forming products right after a burn — they trap heat and can worsen inflammation.
– Don’t pop blisters or peel off flaking skin.
If you notice severe redness, swelling, pain, blisters, or fever, it could be a second-degree sunburn. In that case, consult a doctor immediately.
